You know that fire you had when you first started your business? The excitement, the ideas, the energy to finally make it happen. And yet… here you are, staring at your laptop, wondering if you should go organize your sock drawer instead.
I get it. You want to grow your business, help people, and create success that feels good and doable.
But right now, it feels like you’re wading through thick mud. Everything feels hard, nothing is clicking, and moving forward seems impossible. You’re stuck.
And you’re probably a little burned out too, right? You might be tired of trying things that don’t work. You might even feel as if you’re failing.
Seeing everyone else crushing it, doesn’t exactly help. (They’re not all really crushing it, btw.)
I need to tell you something. Feeling stuck does not mean you’re failing. It’s a sign you need to pause, realign, and adjust your energy.
I know exactly how this feels.
Feeling stuck is an emotion. It’s a symptom of something else. Something that needs to be addressed.
I’ve found myself staring at my to-do list many times, wondering why nothing feels right or why I can’t seem to get any of it done.
It took me a while (okay, more than a while) to figure out a few things that actually helped me shift out of that emotion or stuck energy:
Most of the time, feeling stuck comes from overwhelm or lack of clarity.
Breaking things down into the tiniest, most doable steps (hello micro-task list) makes a massive difference.
Managing my energy and mind is just as important as any strategy.
Once I understood this, things started moving again. Not in some overnight or instantaneous way (although now, some days I am able to shift quickly), but in steady, doable steps that felt aligned with how I wanted to run my business.
Imagine if you simply felt lighter.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could replace the overwhelm and stuck-ness with being clear-headed and focused?
It’s Monday morning, you sit down at your desk (or on the sofa in my case) and instead of staring at a totally overwhelming to-do list, you have one tiny, doable task in front of you. What you need to do next is 100% clear, your energy is strong, and you’re ready.
If you only have 5 minutes to give to your list, there’s something on your micro-task list that you can get done, because micro-tasks only take a few minutes.
No more second-guessing. No more spinning in circles. No more avoidance.
Just steady progress.
By breaking things down, managing your energy, and getting clear on what’s really holding you back, you can start moving forward again. One small, intentional step at a time.
Your mental energy must be protected.
Without it, you can’t create what you need to grow your business. And without aligned energy, you can’t attract everything you want and manifest.
When you’re stuck, you can’t tap into your full potential either.
It’s time to shift out of feeling stuck.
You don’t have to stay in this heavy, overwhelmed, muddled energy.
When you focus on managing your mind and energy, and simplify your next steps, you’ll start moving forward in a way that feels steady and aligned.
Here’s what I did and how you can start shifting quickly:
Break it down. Create a micro-task list with the tiniest, most doable steps. No step is too small.
Example:
Instead of “Write a blog post,” your micro-task could be “Open Google Docs and write the headline.” Yes, that counts.
Clear the fog. Ask yourself, “What exactly am I unclear on?” and “What do I need to do to gain clarity?”
Example:
If you can’t seem to launch your newsletter, ask yourself, “What’s not right?” “What am I afraid of?” or “What feels off?” Once you figure that out, ask, “What do I need to do to fix this?”
Maybe it’s learning a new skill, gaining more confidence, or researching how others do it.
Realign your energy. Bring your intention, attention, and expectation of outcome into everything you do.
Example:
Before writing that social post, take a breath and ask yourself, “What do I want this post to do? How do I want my audience to feel?” Energy first, action second.
Protecting your mental energy and staying in alignment isn’t optional. It’s literally the fuel that moves you and your business forward. Without it, you’re running on empty. And that’s no way to build the business you want.
Here’s what happens when you shift your energy and simplify your steps:
Clarity replaces confusion. When you break things down, what once felt overwhelming becomes something you can do. You’ll know exactly what to focus on next, without the mental gymnastics.
Your energy aligns with your actions. No more scattered focus. You’ll move forward with purpose, and that kind of aligned-ness attracts the right clients and opportunities.
Progress feels lighter (and faster). Small, steady steps build serious momentum. Before you know it, you’re doing the things that once felt impossible.
You protect your mental energy. Boundaries, focus, and clear steps keep your energy from leaking everywhere. You stay grounded and in control of your business’s progress.
You tap into your full potential. When you’re aligned and focused, your creativity, confidence, and manifesting power all show up ready to work.
Let’s be clear about something though…
This is not about forcing yourself to “push through” the stuck-ness. (That doesn’t really work.)
It’s not about putting your head down and working harder. You don’t need more busy-ness. You need clarity and aligned action.
It’s definitely not about chasing every shiny strategy you see online. No more strategy-hopping or throwing spaghetti at the wall (Unless you’re split-testing email subject lines, that’s kind of like throwing spaghetti at the wall).
“But what if this doesn’t work for me?”
Oh, I hear you. Let’s talk through those doubts:
1. “I’ve tried breaking things down before, and I still got stuck.” Here’s the thing, you might not have gone small enough. I’m talking micro-task small. Like, “Open my laptop” small. When you shrink the step, you shrink the resistance.
2. “I don’t have the energy for this right now.” Exactly why this works. It’s about protecting your mental energy and creating progress that feels light. One tiny action is all it takes to shift that stuck-ness. Try watching something short and inspirational or putting on your favorite high-energy song. And sing really loud. I mean, REALLY loud.
3. “What if I still don’t know what to do next?” That’s where clarity questions come in. Ask yourself, “What’s not right?” or “What feels off?” Sometimes it’s not always about action, it’s about giving yourself space to figure out what’s missing.
4. “I’m afraid I’ll get stuck again.” Getting stuck happens. It’s a normal emotion to feel when you’re working on something really big. It’s kind of like the backlash emotion to the exhilaration and rush you felt in the beginning.
Now, you don’t feel that as much, and that sometimes gets interpreted as “stuck”. It’s part of the process. But now you’ll have the tools to recognize it, pause, and shift instead of staying in that heavy, overwhelmed energy.
Just know that you’re going to keep moving forward. Even if it’s slow, messy, or full of snack breaks.
Stuck isn’t where you stay.
Feeling stuck doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means something needs your attention. And now you have the tools to identify it and shift it.
Imagine what’s possible when you protect your mental energy, break things down into tiny steps, and move forward with aligned-ness.
No more heavy, muddled energy. No more second-guessing. Just steady, intentional progress that feels really, really good.
You don’t have to do it all today. Just one small, doable step.
Because that step? It makes a massive difference.
