Let’s get something out of the way.
AI isn’t the problem.
Doing everything in your business yourself? That’s the actual problem.
Trying to be coach, copywriter, strategist, editor, content repurposer, visibility expert, the sales team, and still have a life? It’s too much. It’s always been too much.
So no, AI is not going to replace you. Nor is it going to build your business for you. It’s not going to make you sound bland, boring, or like everyone else.
But it can give you your time, energy, and sanity back.
And for coaches like us, that makes a massive difference.
If you’re juggling clients, writing content from scratch every week, and still trying to figure out what to post on LinkedIn...
...you don’t need more pressure.
You need support.
If you're like most coaches I work with, you're doing everything yourself. Writing content, showing up on social, sending emails, creating offers, delivering sessions... all while trying to maintain some sense of balance.
It isn’t easy, believe me, I know.
Each week, I create an article, 3-5 emails, a podcast episode, a YouTube video, a newsletter, and Lord knows what else.
And let me tell you. This time last year, I did NOT do this. There is no way I could have.
And btw, I do not have a team (well, not a human one). It’s just me.
But for full disclaimer, I do have someone who helps out with tech from time to time, when I need it. Although I still do a lot of that myself as well.
Back to my non-human team. There is no way I could do all of this without help. And you?
You could keep trying to do it all manually, but here’s what I’ve figured out:
You don’t need a bigger team. You need a better system. And AI is the smartest, simplest system you’ll ever use.
It doesn’t need time off. It doesn’t overthink. It doesn’t second-guess your brilliance.
But it does need direction, and that’s where you, your vision, and voice come in.
When you feed it your tone, your phrases, your way of talking about the work (your truth-telling-ness, your clarity-finding-ness, like my Michelle-isms), it can sound like you. Or darn close.
Not perfectly. But close enough that it saves you hours, gives you a starting point, and helps you show up more often with less energy drain.
Let’s address the fear most coaches have when they think about using AI in their business, for example, using AI to write content:
What if it doesn’t sound like me?
What if everyone knows it’s AI-written?
I don’t know how to get it to do what I want.
If people know I’m using AI, won’t they see me as a fraud?
Or like I’m cheating?
Same.
I’ve built my entire business on voice, mine, my clients’, and helping coaches like you find yours.
So I get the resistance.
Totally valid. It’s the last thing any of us want. If you’ve been at it a while, you don’t want to risk damaging what you’ve already created. If you’re brand new, how will you stand out if everyone’s using AI and you all sound the same?
Here’s what I’ve found:
AI is only weird, generic, typical, and meh…when you don’t train it.
Untrained AI is the out-of-the-box AI. You need to shape it and make it your own.
When you take the time to teach AI how you speak, how you think, and how you coach, it becomes a powerful extension of your mind, not a replacement for it.
And it won’t take forever to do. The thing is, you have to start now and with every single interaction (which I recommend doing daily), you train it more. It only gets better with time. So start now.
It helps you say what you want to say… faster. With less spiraling. And more consistency.
Think of AI as your team member who does 80% of the heavy lifting, but you’re still the visionary, the boss, the person who refines, and has the final say.
And no, this isn’t theoretical. I use AI every single day in my own business and it hasn’t diluted my voice one bit.
Here’s what it helps me do:
I’ll type or voice-note a stream of thoughts (half-coherent, sometimes ranty), and AI helps me shape it into a blog post, email, or offer outline. I still edit the heck out of it, but the starting from zero part? Gone.
A single article becomes:
A newsletter outline
A podcast episode
A YouTube video script-ish
3 LinkedIn or FB posts
And I’m not manually rewriting every version. I’m feeding it through my system, with AI doing the heavy lifting.
Need a workbook? Client assessment? Naming exercise? AI helps me turn frameworks I already use into usable, beautiful client-facing tools. I keep the soul. AI adds the scaffolding. (And consistency, because hey… I am only human. I forget things, get too busy, you know.)
Ever sit there stuck thinking, “What do I even call this thing?” Me too.
I run it through AI. It gives me 20 ideas. I pick the ones I like, change them a little, and boom, done.
I give AI the offer I’m promoting, who I’m talking to (hi, client persona), and the message I want to lead with, and it spits out a month’s worth of ideas. Do I use them all? No. But do I have way more clarity and momentum? 100%.
AI helps me think like a strategist. I feed it my offer, audience, and goals, and it helps me map out a 30-day content and promotional plan in minutes. I can even turn that into a day-by-day, hour-by-hour, focused work plan.
I know, I can hear you now, that all sounds great, but doesn’t using AI risk feeling less personal? Only if you let it.
You’re the trainer, the final say, the master designer. You just have a second brain now that can work faster than you and learn to be very much like you.
As I have dug deeper into using AI, teaching how to work with AI, and more, I’ve discovered the coaches who struggle with AI usually fall into one of two camps:
They're using it, but the out-of-the-box version and don’t train it.
They think it’s cheating and therefore use it sparingly.
But here’s what I know:
The coaches who learn how to train AI to match their voice? They create more content, more consistently, without burning out.
They sell more, because they’re not stuck in the “what do I say?” spiral.
They reach more people, because they can show up across platforms without adding hours to their week.
They still write. Still show up. Still connect. They just have a super smart and affordable team now.
Using AI doesn’t have to dull your creativity. Remember, you're in control. With AI, I 100% believe you’re actually freeing up your creativity. (This is what has happened for me.)
You can do all the things you’ve wanted to do but didn’t have the time, bandwidth, or actual know-how.
When you use AI right, it helps you:
Write faster
Repurpose smarter
Be more visible
And protect your precious brain energy
So you can focus on coaching. Creating. And growing your coaching business.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed trying to do it all, or stuck in visibility paralysis, AI can help. Not by doing all the work for you, but by doing the heavy lifting and working side-by-side with you.
And honestly, it’s no longer a matter of if AI will become a part of your day-to-day, it’s a matter of if you’ll take charge and leverage it to grow faster.
